Visitor center is closed for renovation. You can walk around the mounds to west of visitor center. Largest mound that can be climbed with steps is northwest of center, across a busy highway, or you c… mtscribe的完整评论

Arrived on Sat. Oct.26th at 5:40 pm which I know is late in the tourist season. But people were there visiting. Outside grounds open till dusk. Museum closed, didn't see outside porta potties to sup… PAUL M的完整评论

Yes. There's a few small spaces close to the Visitor Center, but other larger parking areas a little further away from the V.C., near Monk's Mound, and a turn-out near Woodhenge.

Agree with other commenters. I wasn't able to go inside the museum as I arrived after they were closed. One set of mounds is on south (I think) side of road by museum. Larger/taller mound is on other side of road & has its own parking area. Yes, about 100 yards from parking lot to bottom of stairs. I'm not in great shape but made it to the top--which by the way was worth the effort in terms of view. Just took my time.... Carry water with you!
