We also were on a cruise. We booked an excursion that included some of the top attractions like Eagle Beach and Casibari rock formation as well as the lighthouse. Eagle Beach is the best beach. The sand is beautiful and clean, and the surf is milder than some of the other beaches. It seems like a lot of the cruise excursions go to other beaches and not Eagle Beach, so it wasn't overcrowded. A taxi would work if you don't have an excursion, but decide ahead of time what other attractions you would like to see. An excursion from your ship or other providers may be a better option, so you are not always trying to find a taxi. Enjoy your time in Aruba!
Would like to go to Eagle Beach as I will be on a cruise so porting for the day. What are the chances of getting a chair and umbrella. How early do you need to arrive.

You would need to go very early. But if you don't get an umbrella there are alot of trees and shade.
