Hi, I will travel from Tangkou to Hongcun and stay overnight. Can you tell me where is the bus station will drop me off. Will it be the gate (only one place to buy ticket?) And the day after I will take the bus back to Tunxi bus station, will it be the same place where I get drop the first day? Thanks for help. If both day is the same bus stop, I will try to get the hotel close to Yihao Tanhuafu Hotel or Hongcun exotic Hotel since it might be hard to carry the luggage. Thanks for any advice.

There was a fast food restaurant on the corner on the left. Walk down the street past some small stores. Next, you enter a gate house to get the ticket then proceed through the gates into the village.

Yes, 2 hours is sufficient. Besides spending time walking around and soaking in the beautiful scenery, there are also small eateries and souvenir shops in the village itself.

We took a bus from Huangshan North station to Hongcun, then from Hongcun to Tangko in March this year. Can't remember the exact time table but I remember it runs hourly starting from maybe 8am till 5pm, give or take a little. Hongcun to Tunxi the schedule is quite similar. It is very convenient.

Sorry, it is a little bit late for the answer but it might be useful for another traveler. I did the trip in 2002. It was an organised trip and we made both places the same day. I felt it was a good timing. If you prefer to take more time, I would suggest to spend the night in HongCun because in my memory it more picturesque than XiDi, especially thanks to the water reflections of the houses. BTW, if in the meantime you did the trip, let us know whether you agree with me.
