Originally, founded in the historic village of Barmby Moor, The Hooting Owl distillery was carefully transported in 2024 to its new home. You will now find us just a short walk from York train station, nestled in the heart of this historic and beautiful city. We are primarily a distiller & retailer of world-class, small batch, artisan spirits. Every drop of Hooting Owl is made here within the city walls. Sited above a historic Roman Road, the distillery forms the centrepiece of our opulent lounge bar, where all our hand-crafted spirits are available alongside craft beers, lagers, divine cocktails, fine wines and Prosecco.
