You can start a PADI course at 10 years old. I did with my son but he found it too much. You shouldn't dive on your own anyway and if you don't know the area where you are …

You can start a PADI course at 10 years old. I did with my son but he found it too much. You shouldn't dive on your own anyway and if you don't know the area where you are diving you should book a guided dive. If you have never dived before then you can do a discover scuba diving dive. I would recommend you try this at a club near where you live in confined water (i.e. swimming pool) before going in the sea if you are in anyway nervous of open water swimming.
