Yes the main car route up the mountain continues to the north of the island but you won't get to the top of the mountain just in the car. I didn't hire a car so couldn't comment on the route on the north side of the mountain but on the south side (from ipsos) it is very windy. In the most part it is wide enough for 2 cars (just) so if you drive slow enough, I'm sure you'll be fine.
What's the best way of walking from Ipsos to the top of Pantokrator..? How long does it take...Up and down...! Any tips... Regards.

We drove most of the way up, and not from Ipsos. I believe there are several walking routes (rather like Snowdon) but you might need to find a specialist site for this information.
