According to NFL reporter Albert Breer, the Pittsburgh Steelers and quarterback Justin Fields continue to try to work out a new contract for Fields. According to Breer, the two sides are talking money as expected,

Other teams have interest in Fields, too, Rapoport adds. This will drive up the Steeler backup’s price and test the AFC North team’s resolve. As the Steelers have been primarily connected to only Fields and Wilson, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac reports the team has not dismissed pursuing an outside free agent to solve its QB issue.

Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz reported that the Steelers are maintaining an open dialogue with Fields and Wilson as both quarterbacks head to NFL free agency. However, the New York Jets are also high on Fields as a potential successor for Aaron Rodgers, having decided to bring his three-year, $112.5 million contract to an early end.
