Oilers superstar captain Connor McDavid will undergo an MRI on Friday, one day after sustaining a lower-body injury in the second period of a 4-3 overtime loss to the Jets.

The concussion spotter pulled Stuart Skinner with about five minutes left of the third period. In the third period, Gabriel Vilardi was tangled up with an Oilers player around the Oilers net. He then runs into Skinner, elbow-first straight to the goaltender’s head.

Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch did not have an update on McDavid, who sustained a lower-body injury during the second period, or goalie Stuart Skinner, who went into concussion protocol following a collision in the crease with Jets forward Gabriel Vilardi at 15:03 of the third.
