The base Ranchero was essentially a low-to-the-ground, no-frills pickup truck, while the up-market Custom trim allowed for two-tone paint and more civility based on the Ford Fairlane's options list.

But it was the Ford Ranchero that brought the American ute ... the Ford has managed to survive with just a couple of minor custom touches and a repaint that was performed a couple of years ago.
