Part of the Chelyabinsk meteorite, recovered from Lake Chebarkul. The largest known meteorite is the Hoba meteorite which fell in Namibia in 1920 and is etimated to weigh around 60 tonnes (60,000kg).

The size of meteorites varies dramatically. They can be grain-sized, or even weigh a few thousand pounds. The Hoba Iron meteorite, for example, weighs 66 tons. But they can also be amazingly small.
