UPMC Children’s Community Pediatrics is seeing an increase in cases of a viral stomach bug, viral sore throats and allergies.

In the case of pneumonia, where the mucous forms as a response to viral and bacterial cells in the lungs, the cough is wet and often sounds deep and comes with fatigue, fever, possible chest pain.
