The Government of Assam has made an important move to preserve and promote indigenous languages by introducing Deori and Tiwa languages in Lower Primary (LP) schools across the state.

The 'Bhasha Gaurav Saptah', celebrating the languages in Assam was held in Cachar district on November 9, urging the preservation and development of languages, especially amongst youth.
