Authorities said one person was seriously hurt, and two others were injured, in an accident in east Charlotte Friday morning.

Three children fell into a frozen pond, leaving one of the kids in critical condition, North Carolina officials said. The children were playing on the ice when the tragedy unfolded at about 5 p.m.
