Scott Foley is well aware that people are buying homes in Italy to renovate them, and he’d liked to help. “Scott really is out here trying to get anybody to get a home so he can renovate it,” Maia Reficco, who shares the screen with Foley in the new Netflix film “La Dolce Vita,” told CNN. “He continues to pitch in left and right.”

Netflix's latest rom-com is here in the form of "La Dolce Villa," and like any story, plays into the fantasy of some viewers. But there's one element that's actually very real and possible — buying a home in Italy for next to nothing.

Directed by Mark Waters, with a screenplay written by Elizabeth Hackett and Hilary Galanoy, La Dolce Villa stars Scandal ‘s Scott Foley as Eric, an American who impulsively travels to Italy when he hears that his daughter,
