New Nissan CEO Ivan Espinosa takes over a company that continues to face financial troubles and falling sales figures.

According to Autocar, Nissan has suspended plans to create a compact, rear-wheel-drive successor to the Silvia due to Nissan's financial difficulties and Carlos Ghosn's pledge to reduce costs.

Nissan has appointed Ivan Espinosa as the new CEO who will be taking over the reign from 1 April 2025 from Makoto Uchida.

Nissan's new CEO was previously in charge of product planning and has backed the idea of a modern Silvia sports car.
