An adult male suspect was taken into custody and brought to a hospital for evaluation, according to Maine State Police.

Authorities say the suspect's mother was found seriously injured. Her condition has been upgraded from critical.

Maine State Police say they are investigating a death in Readfield. They say they were called to a home on Giles Road around 10am Wednesday after a 911 call about an incident. Troopers say they found a woman dead outside of the home and an injured woman inside the home.
