Alabama lawmakers on Wednesday advanced a bill to put oversight on the state’s parole board that has garnered national attention for low parole rates.

Wednesday is an ALERT DAY for Central and South Alabama as a wave of intense thunderstorms passes through the region. Most of North and Central Alabama got around one to two inches of rain on Tuesday.
