According to legend, Sukuna was an Imaginary Demon (仮 か 想 そう の 鬼 き 神 じん Kasō no Kijin?) during the Heian Era. In truth, he was a human sorcerer also known as the Disgraced One (堕 だ 天 てん Daten?).

As the symbol of the greatest force in the history of sorcery, Sukuna enforces a schism within jujutsu society. In the Heian era, and now in the modern era, Sukuna spurs the rule of might.
