The M67 Sight Unit consists of the M67 Elbow Telescope and the M67 Telescope Mount. It can be used on any of the primary United States mortar systems including the M224 (60mm), M252 (81mm), and M120/M121 (120mm).

The M67A2 Sight Unit is used to orient a mortar system on a specific elevation and direction of fire. The use of battery powered LEDs to illuminate scales & level vials for night & low-light operations eliminates the need for radioactive tritium and the corresponding personal safety concerns & NRC oversight.

The M67A1 Sight unit is currently used to lay the EFSS M327 mortar system for deflection and elevation. Lighting for night and low-light operations is provided by LED illuminated scales and level vials.

The M67 Sight Unit is an evolution of the M64 and M64A1 Sight Units currently fielded to the Army, and employs identical lamps with the exception of the reticle lamps and the course elevation scale lamp. The M64 Sight Unit has been fielded with the 60mm; mortar system, whereas the M64A1 Sight Unit has been fielded with the 81mm mortar system.

The M224 60 mm Lightweight Company Mortar System (LWCMS) is a smoothbore, muzzle-loading, high-angle-of-fire mortar used for close-in support of ground troops. It was deployed extensively in the War in Afghanistan by the United States military.

During firing of the mortar, the sight unit experiences extreme shock percussions and vibration. When not in use and during transport, the sight unit is stowed in its case inside a vehicle.

The C2A1 Sight Unit is operable in both day and night conditions, incorporating gaseous tritium light sources to illuminate all scales, indices and level vials. The C2A1 Sight Unit is ideal for use with all mortars and machine guns and is in service worldwide.
