The SPS I sent to Short Action Customs and he put it in a McMillan stock, trued the action and installed a Lilja 23" fluted barrel for me. All guns would shoot the 20gr Remington loads under 3/4" at 100 yards.

2019年11月3日 · Best part, LAPUA brass! Just finished a 20-221 on a Howa Mini with a 19” #2 Krieger for my girl. I load cheap 32 gr varmageddon bullets at 3350. Gun weighs 8 lbs. if you don’t want to duck around with the neck down, shoot a standard 221. Remington made the 700 in 221 (and 17 fireball, same case) up into the 2000’s.

2011年1月30日 · Buy a centerfire. You can get a 17 Remington or 17 Remington Fireball for a bit more than a 17 HMR and take ethical shots out to about 350 yards. HMRs are a GREAT range round, and work wonders on birds, squirrel, ground dogs, PDogs, etc, but don't use it on something like a coyote.

2013年2月21日 · About two years prior to the birth of the 17 Hornet I had a custom 17 Ackley Hornet built on a CZ527. Had I had any idea the 17 Hornet was coming (even if the 17AH is 200 FPS faster) I would have done the 17 Hornet instead. The 17WSM I have seen work over prairie dogs was impressive but the 17HMR is a much better choice for a rimfire rifle.
