From the Win10 settings for me: Time and Language -> Language (on the left) -> click Japanese, then Options -> at the bottom click "Japanese IME", then Options -> General -> Compatibility (at the bottom) -> enable "Use previous version of the Microsoft IME"

2014年6月17日 · Once the Japanese keyboard is selected you should be able to change the input mode to hiragana by pressing Ctrl-CapsLock. That just goes to hiragana. And pressing Alt-CapsLock should take you to katakana. To ensure that the keyboard works flawlessly, download the latest keyboard driver from the Manufacturer’s website. Hope this helps.

Can't switch input methods for Japanese Microsoft IME
2016年9月9日 · If you don't have a Japanese keyboard, you can set the "13-Input Method" to "Romaji Input" (the first option), and then type "k" followed by "a" to get the same result. Be sure to use a font that supports Japanese, such as MS Mincho. The IME seems to pick the font automatically. Let me know if this worked for you.
