"Pax Cultura" ("Cultural Peace" or "Peace through Culture") is the motto of the cultural artifact protection movement founded by Nicholas Roerich, and is symbolized by a maroon on white emblem consisting of three solid circles in a surrounding circle.

The Pact itself declared the necessity for protection of the cultural product and activity of the world—both during war and peace—and prescribed the method by which all sites of cultural value would be declared neutral and protected, just as the Red Cross does with hospitals.

The Roerich Pact is also known as Pax Cultura ("Cultural Peace" or "Peace through Culture"). The most important part of the Roerich Pact is the legal recognition that the protection of culture is always more important than any military necessity.

The Pax Cultura for the protection of artistic and scientific institutions and historic monuments was signed on 15th April 1935 by the President of the USA Franklin D. Roosevelt in the White House and by 21 other republics of the Pan-American Union.

The image of the Strasbourg Madonna is adorned with it.
