2015年10月20日 · In present day Magic, "aristocrats" refers to a deck archetype, not a creature type. The archetype relies on sacrificing your own creatures for value and is usually classified as aggro. The original deck that did this was named aristocrats because two of its sacrifice outlets were [[Falkenrath Aristocrat]] and [[Cartel Aristocrat]].

2019年1月19日 · Aristocrats is a “combo” deck that wants to get value from it's creatures dying. The deck relies on three types of cards: “predators”, cards that sacrifice creatures for value; “prey”, creatures that give you value when they are sacrificed; and “scavengers”, cards that have an effect when a creature dies.

2020年12月31日 · Having a recurrable sac outlet is kinda huge for aristocrats I feel, since the gameplan can fall apart with opponents consistently destroying your sac outlet. edit: also fun with some commanders as it can singlehandedly give your deck a voltron mode of you can generate enough sac fodder to one shot someone.

Out of all strategies to run in MTG, Aristocrats seems like a really mild one to get salty about. It generally takes quite a bit of setup for a dictate strategy to be effective, and is easily stopped by countering or removing either the dictate effect, the token generator or the sacrifice outlet.

2021年5月9日 · If you’re going full aristocrats, I think you should take a hard look at all if your creatures and focus on sac outlets and death triggers. I’m thinking Yahenni, Krav, Viscera Seer, Butcher of malakir. Etc.

2020年11月7日 · White is a fantastic aristocrats color because of its affinity with tokens and the myriad of Orzhov cards that directly interact with aristocrats. There's a reason why the vast majority of Orzhov commanders have to deal with aristocrats and why they're so popular. Green serves a similar function to White, but isn't as useful in aristocrats.

2022年2月28日 · As to building aristocrats you want a good mix of things to sacrifice, ways to sacrifice, and payoffs for doing so. Examples that i use [[elenda the dusk rose]] (my commander) fills two roles. She gives value when other things die (growing bigger), and when she dies herself you get value (more dudes to eat).

A deck built strictly around sacrificing things is likely to be more controlling. Mainly focusing on [[Grave Pact]] and [[Fleshbag Marauder]]-type effects, and then likely having some aristocrats-like effects to back it up. An aristocrats deck likely focuses more on a proactive playing style, and is usually more tokens driven.

Technically this is aristocrats adjacent as all the drain triggers are on ETB, but I think it fits this sub. The aim of the deck is to have a lot of zombies ETB while wayward servant or corpse knight or both are out. This can be done in a big bang with Rally the ancestors for 4, or can be done gradually by replaying gravecrawler or other zombies.
