There was not a lot of performance in this era, but Pontiac tried by putting the new “performance” version of the Trans Am engine and Turbo 400 in the LeMans Sport Coupe. That along with the Radial Tuned suspension with big sway bars, a shaker, a rear spoiler, and the Grand Prix dash, rounded out the package.

Even when it was around, the few standalone showrooms it did have didn't sell enough volume to warrant having them.When I was a kid, Morrison Pontiac in Jacksonville was a standalone store and by 2008 it was purchased by Nimnicht Pontiac GMC Hummer(Oldsmobile was gone by then).

2018年8月16日 · 2nd-gen F-body dropped as a 1970 model. Basically if your body panels got into dealerships before the big ugly bumpers came in 1973, you're grandfathered in before the malaise era, because you can be returned to that cleaner 1972-or-older look.

If GM wouldn't have continued to mis-manage Pontiac; and allowed them to REALLY build excitment. They would have great sales. Again, I would trade my SS in for a new Firebird Trans Am in a heartbeat. I bet tere would be a "Spirit" version with the 3.6 liter V6 with 336hp and the 455hp 6.2 liter liter would be available in the Trans Am.
