2021年1月9日 · Dishy to the Starlink POE brick, then from there directly to my edgerouter x (no Starlink router). Then I have a Ubiquiti AP AC Pro wifi access point plugged into my edgerouter. I also have my old LTE modem (ZTE branded) plugged into my edgerouter and set up that up using the failover wizard on the edgerouter.
Is it worth it to use a different router with Starlink?
Plugged from the Starlink router into the Archer C9 got rid of all of those issues - but brought up some NAT difficulty with online games & voip. Result? The Starlink router sits beautifully in a drawer for it's eventual turn to shine and for the foreseeable future the line goes straight form the PoE brick into my Archer C9.

I have a Maritime Starlink dishy, I have the PSU directly connected to my Cisco router with the Ethernet cable. I receive a public IP on the Cisco via DHCP which I can then NAT to for internet access. All good.

2023年5月26日 · They told me to access the router admin page using direct IP access. That page also would not let me access the name and password settings. My Starlink works but cannot be secured…I will not use an unsecured router. Beyond that, if the router, as several have noted, will periodically glitch like this, the router may go unsecured for many users.

2022年2月18日 · Router makes quite a bit of heat, could definitelycl cause issues in summer. But, Router is IP54 rated for incidental splashes and mist. Use a bottom vented box that's protected from direct weather and it'll be fine.

2022年8月13日 · Starlink doesn't have a configurable firewall, but any router that does NAT is automatically a basic firewall just because of how NAT works. Plus, as mentioned in another comment, Starlink uses CGNAT which will itself act as another firewall layer. If you just care about basic inbound connection attacks, any old router does the job.

2022年11月22日 · I think the starlink router only supports WPA2 auth. It would be odd if your door opener device only supported WPA3 with no backwards compatibility to WPA2. Perhaps it’s something else like only supports a 2.4 GHz network vs 5 or vice versa. You can split out the 2.4 and 5 GHz networks in the settings if that’s the case.

2022年2月21日 · I'm in Northern Ontario Canada and have the original Starlink Router first made and it's in a barely heated Barn Tack Room where I beam the signal from there to my house. It's -20 Celcius today outside and has been up to -30 however inside the tackroom its obviously a bit warmer but you can still see your breath a bit.
