On March 8, 2021, MGM updated their 97-year-old lion logo with CGI, in contrast to the real lions used previously. This is the first major update to the logo since 1957. Despite the new on-screen logo being introduced, it uses the monogram wordmark rather than a print logo like the other preceded logos.

MGM's updated logo for 2021 also features a spectacular fanfare, and for the first time, Leo is fully CGI. The 1995 roar was also retained.

A special variation of the 2021 logo is created for the studio's 100th anniversary, where the "100" appears and places in the inside of the ribboning until it dissolves to Leo roaring, and the text "100 Years of Entertainment" appears below the byline.
