The Philadelphia Highway Patrol is a specialized unit within the Philadelphia Police Department that services as both the primary enforcers of traffic laws within the city and as an anti-crime task force.

The Philadelphia Highway Patrol Police Motorcycle Training ("Wheel School") was established in the early 1950's and is home of the "Highway Patrol Drill Team". Our training center is located in the Northeast section of Philadelphia at Highway Patrol Headquarters.

The Philadelphia Highway Patrol Drill Team was created by Police Commissioner Thomas Gibbons in 1953 in response to the financial need of seven families of Philadelphia Firefighters killed in the line of duty while battling a multi-alarm fire.
