2023年12月28日 · This is my tactical run as well, Shadow Monk 6, Rogue 4, Goolock 2 and it's been a hoot. (Actually respecced multiple times along the way at 7 and 11 so Monk is always the newest class, to preserve wisdom as the casting stat for Arcane Synergy items). So good at exploring dungeons, looting and ambushing.

Appreciate all the work you've put into building powerful and unique monk builds that aren't just the same TB OH monk. You have been the main advocate for the 4e monk/ spore druid build and now this shadow monk build, it's nice to see niche mechanics being optimized for fun, creative, and powerful builds. Thank you!

2023年9月7日 · The monk weapon feature can turn a lot of traditional cleric weapons (like the blood of lathendar mace) into a dex weapon if you have prof which war cleric gets even when multi classed into. I went Shadow Monk 6 / War Cleric 6 focusing dex/wis which gives you all the good shadow stuff + spirit guardians.

2023年8月8日 · Source: Playing on my Rogue/Monk and cannot sneak attack after unequipping my weapon. But the build itself still works great, either 8 Open Hand / 4 Thief or 9 Open Hand / 3 Thief for that upgraded Martial Arts and Resonating Ki from Monk 9. If going the shadow monk way the split would probably look more like Shadow Monk 7 / Thief 5.

2023年10月13日 · For my Shadow Monk, Astarion and Spore Druid Monk Jaheira, I'm not sure I could have had nearly as much slaughter-fun without looting the House of Hope and killing Raphael. Fortunately, pickpocketing barely registers as a crime in the warped minds of Dark Urge and Astarion, so I had a lore-friendly reason to shoplift my way around Baldur's Gate.

I respec’ed Shadowheart into a Shadow Monk and gave her two Shadow Blades (using the trick where you dismiss a hireling holding the summoned weapon). Paired with Resonance Stone this unloads a ton of damage in Act 3. Earlier on, I think Phalar Aluve is probably one of the best monk weapons you can get. edit: Phalar Aluve not Phalar Alive.

2023年10月9日 · Yeah I agree, and I mean playing on balanced, there's no real need to be meta. To answer your question on bladed shadow monk, it's purely flavor preference. If there was any mechanic based reason it would be shadow step, I feel really cool being like Nightcrawler and blipping around the battlefield. Even if it's pretty limited by light situation :)
