What effect does vortexing have on a fluid sample that simple ...
2012年3月15日 · The vortex not only provides a different profile of mixing, but has the power to mix viscous fluids that would otherwise remain virtually unmixed (glycerol stocks come to mind). Vortex shakers are contra-indicated for some lab protocols (like in miniprep kits) but can be used for most mixing needs.
biochemistry - Forgot to vortex antibody before staining - Biology ...
2016年6月27日 · $\begingroup$ i was taught never to vortex proteins that i wanted to do something useful, but the even mixing (by pipetting or inversion or extended nutation or whatever) of a solution is pretty much required for us to say anything meaningful about any …
What is the most critical step of plasmid purification?
2014年9月17日 · When mixing, it's only ok to vortex the cell pellet prior to lysis, after adding lysis buffer, ONLY MIX BY INVERTING THE TUBE. Vortexing after this point can shear DNA. If you overdry the pellets, you can resuspend them by leaving them in …
Why is it sometimes difficult to resuspend E. coli in P1?
2012年10月31日 · It's a curiosity question. When I'm doing minipreps after pelleting the bacteria sometimes it's very easy to resuspend them in P1 (Qiagen kit), but sometimes they form a rubbery clump that is very hard to break up with a pipette and I have to vortex the tubes. It interests me because it adds more time to my lab work and I wish I could avoid it.
lab techniques - Why spin live fruit flies in centrifuge? - Biology ...
2019年10月3日 · All laboratories have vortex mixers of the type illustrated, as these are used to speed up dissolution of solutes and to disperse (resuspend) solids which have been precipitated by centrifugation — perhaps the source of confusion as the flies would likely have been put in centrifuge tubes as these would be appropriate (although the flies were ...

2019年2月5日 · There are four things you can change depending on how much DNA you need to insert into the cloning vector: (i) amount of PCR reaction mixtures ("how many tubes")

2013年12月7日 · The boney component of the anatomical orbitstrong text (in lay terms the eye socket) is the area bordered by the zygomatic, frontal, maxilla, sphenoid, palatine, lacrimal and ethmoid bones.
human biology - Is it possible to fuse DNA from two sperms and …
2021年10月5日 · I don't think it is possible. There is a lot happening to the DNA of the sperm and the egg after fertilization, and just mixing the DNA of two sperm or two eggs would not achieve that. Also, a YY embryo would not be viable because the X chromosome contain vital genes that Y does not. That's why there are people with 1X but no one with 1Y.
pcr - Good pipetting technique? - Biology Stack Exchange
2016年2月9日 · $\begingroup$ Additional point: care should be taken while pipetting surfactants and viscous liquids.Surfactant containing liquids should be properly mixed prior to dispensing and mixing by pipetting just before dispensing (with the same tip) should be avoided.
Can genetic recombination occur between DNA viruses?
2024年2月4日 · Summary Certainly DNA viruses do recombine — some of them encode proteins specifically for this purpose. And this is unsurprising if one reflects on the fact that recombination is a fundamental characteristic of double-stranded genomic DNA in prokaryotes and eukaryotes.
