2010年12月30日 · I have the 35mm f/2 and the 85mm f/1.8. Both work splendidly on the D700. I have also tested the 85mm f/1.4 G & D mount lenses with the D700. The G does have some advantages, but I'm not certain that the price point difference is well founded.

2017年1月28日 · Well, the 35mm will show more background behind the subject that the 50mm or the 85mm; the 85mm will be much more of a selective-angle type lens, whoich will tend to throw the backdrop more out of focus than the 50, and much more OOF than the 35mm.

2011年7月10日 · I don't understand your logic. The 15-85mm is more versatile, but it's slower, and the IS only works if your object is not moving. It's image quality is also not as good as the 85mm wide open. The 15-85mm is actually a fairly lackluster lens for the price. You can buy better quality for half the price with either the 85mm or the 35mm.

2013年10月28日 · The 35mm overlaps with the 50mm's purpose. The 85mm also overlaps with the 50mm's purpose. Would the 50mm still be useful to my collection of primes? Yes, it would. The 35mm and the 85mm don't automatically make a 50mm useless. It's different enough to still be useful. I use my 85mm quite often right now, primarily because I just got the lens.

2013年3月12日 · However, most of the pictures I've seen for the 85mm were on a full frame camera, so I'm uncertain how an 85mm would look with a 1.5 crop factor. Not to mention this seems incredibly inconvenient for indoor shooting. Aesthetically the 35mm is more pleasing to me, but the bokeh on the 85mm seems to be arguably one of the best for Nikon lenses.

2012年3月23日 · I am pretty familiar with the 35mm lens, And it is a very good semi wide-angle lens, but the difference between the 24, and 28 mm, and a 35 mm lens is huge. The 24 to 70 has much more focal length flexibility, and being stuck at 35 mm is it really bad thing at events like weddings,parties, Press conferences, and many types of events.

2011年10月18日 · So, I thought I had decided on my upgrade path being a Canon 15 - 85mm IS f3.5-5.6 as an upgrade for my old 28-105mm f3.5-4.5 walk around lens. It looked like it ticked most of the boxes. Recently however I have become aware of the Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4 DC HSM Macro OS C Now I am torn between the two.

2023年7月24日 · Typically I reserve that praise for the nifty 50's and 85mm lenses. Anyway, the 18 - 35mm seems like a great next choice as a portrait and street lens. What I'm trying to justify is, should I even keep my 16mm if I purchase the 18 - 35 lens for the cost? Wouldn't it just be easier to sell the 16mm and have the 18 - 35mm as an all purpose lens ...

2007年3月27日 · Actually that 85mm lens on your 20D has the same field of view as a 136mm lens 35mm equavillant. That is getting to be pretty long for portraits, especially indoors. The 50mm will be equal to a 80. Which is much closer to the sweet spot. It may be a bit slower, but your not going to be trying to catch a car going by at 200mph either.
