2021年1月24日 · First tier battery chargers all have a maintenance capability which is what you are seeking. CTEK for one. I paid less than $100 for mine. The BMW AGM charger has been a rebranded CTEK and very expensive. A nominal 100 AH dead battery takes more than 25 hours at 4 Amps to charge full. 4 Amps is the maximum charging rate for an AGM battery.

When I did this the charger did go into the charging sequence moving overnight from step 0/0 to 3/2. However, when I checked it at mid-morning it had gone back to stage 0/0 with the LED blinking.

My one is HP DPS-700GB 700W, 56A [~50A around 13.50V] which is good for ISTA scan and play without worry battery drain, if programming need then HP DPS-800GB 850W, 70A or HP DPS-1200FB 900W, 75A is recommended.

Make a commitment to ride once a week the alternator/charging system will keep it charged. I have used an old Sear 10 amp car battery charger to charge my PC680 when it needs a charge. Batteries plus has the PC680 about $115.

2018年10月5日 · I've been using a CTEK charger that has an AGM mode for years on my 2012 535xi. It is an older model than the one you mentioned but it works great with my AGM battery.

2024年6月2日 · The reason BMW specifies such high current chargers is because they don't charge the battery before they begin servicing the vehicle. So if they are going to do any programming, the charger has to be able to supply enough current to not only to charge the battery (e.g., 25 - 50 A) but also to power the vehicle electronics at the same time.
