I *think* the only difference between a standard and NM Colt barrel is that the ones with the best accuracy when fired in fixtures during proof testing get selected as NM barrels.

2011年11月6日 · Yesterday, I shot a 1992-1999 era Colt 1911 MK IV Series 80 .45 ACP that looks very much like a modern Combat Elite, but finished much nicer. (I am going to buy this 1911.) The serial number is SS21xxxE, and yes it is an "Enhanced" model with the typical list of upgrades from the standard models.

2012年5月9日 · My favorite 1911 is a Colt original series 70 GCNM. My first Colt was a stainless steel series 80 government model. I've owned 5 Colt 1911's and all of them were very reliable weapons. The series 70 GCNM has been the most accurate pistol I've owned. I have never owned a Kimber 1911 but a couple of freinds do and they like them.
