Wet the leather and allow water to soak in a few minutes (H2O can be sprayed on, submerged briefly) 5. Set wing dividers to create a border around the sheath for the stamp ...
Pancake Sheaths and how I go about them. (PIC HEAVY)
2011年10月4日 · I mark with a Sharpie the basic outline of the knife with extra. This is going to be the pocket that the knife will sit in when the sheath is completed. Very important to get that finger guard and the point of the welt just right. That is the widest part of the blade and it has to slide past that welt when inserting the knife.

1999年8月4日 · I like it very much, Michael. In fact, you've inspired me to try the style for my next small-medium fixed blade leather sheath project. I have a CR Aviator with a similar style leather sheath & I find it very comfortable. It snugs the knife to my side w/o being uncomfortable, despite my being a big guy.

Buckaroo Beltless Sheath - BladeForums.com
2011年10月4日 · It came with a pancake sheath but she didn't really like that. She hadn't worn this knife a lot as the pancake lined the handle up so it would kinda poke her bending over etc. Also much of the time she doesn't wear a belt. So I built her a horizontal sheath to carry above her left front pocket (when she did wear a belt) in a cross draw fashion.

Quick Draw Knife Sheath Pattern - Patterns and Templates ...
2015年12月14日 · Here's my pattern that I used to make the one in the post that was linked above. When I made mine I used two layers of 4-6 oz leather so I had a finished surface on the inside and out. Where the two rivets go I cut small pieces of delrin tubing so the blade didn't ride against the metal rivets. It'll keep your blade sharp much longer.
How do you comfortably carry your fixed blades?
2007年1月1日 · I totally prefer a fixed blade over a folder but realistically find them to be either uncomfortable, in the way or bumping into things like the seat when you sit down. Show off your techniques and rigs. I carry fixed blades a lot around the acreage but have not found an ideal way and usually carry a folder when I venture out. Ideally a 4” or ...

2013年2月16日 · These have been fitted without a significant guard on the knife. I am making my first knife sheath for a knife with a significant guard so I will need to add a fastening strap to the sheath. I am thinking about placing a snap above the bottom (blade edge) guard and running the strap over the handle to the snap.
pancake knife sheath question. Welt? - Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings …
2016年7月27日 · Its my first pancake style knife sheath so YMMV!!! I didnt want to go to the end of the sheath at the belt loops at three thickness thick. This knife has about a 3.5inch blade and it would just seem cumbersome to go three layers of 8/9 oz all the way out to the ends of the sheath but I was sure I wanted a welt.
