The war crimes trial of Slobodan Milošević, the former President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) lasted for just over four years from 2002 until his death in 2006.

Milošević was arrested by the Yugoslav government in 2001 and turned over to the ICTY for trial on charges of genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes. The trial began in February 2002 but experienced numerous delays because of the poor health of Milošević, who served as his own defense lawyer.

On 24 May 1999, when the Tribunal indicted Slobodan Milošević, at the time the former President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, for crimes in Kosovo he was the first sitting head of state to be charged with war crimes by an international tribunal.
