2010年6月10日 · so I ordered a washer/dryer to put in my apt from best buy. they came to try to install and they told me that the dryer uses a 4 inch vent hose, and my vent opening is only 3.5 inches, so it does not fit. they told me to buy an adaptor. In the mean time, they put the vent hose through my wall and put a lint trap.

2017年1月2日 · I went to hook up the dryer and for the vent they have a 4" PVC stubbed out of the wall. On the other side of this wall is the utility closet with the water heater and furnace. The PVC goes through the wall into this utility closet and then up and into the attic. Guessing there is either a roof vent or a vent out the gable wall.

2019年4月5日 · Calson beat me to the option I was going to suggest - put the washer and dryer (or just the dryer) up on a box, so that the vent can run back under it to an open joist bay. If 6" is too much, you can get it to about 4-1/2" using 1/2" plywood or 7/16" OSB for the top of the box.

The rim joist is 2x12 and the location for the vents is more or less above a door and below a door. Also, there will be a deck ledger attached to the rim joist and the vents would have to go through the ledger board as well.

2008年9月7日 · I replaced a dryer vent that ran thru my crawl space for a distance of about 15 feet. The old vent was the plastic slinky with the wire coil. It was a mess, sagged and was full of lint. I replaced it with 4" PVC drainage pipe. The dryer works much better now and dries the clothes in much less time.

I would like to get a front loading washer and dryer (separate units). But finding the space I have is limiting to purchase some of the newer styles. 2012年12月14日 · Basically long story short, I replaced a couple bathroom fans on my top floor bathrooms, and they vent to the attic soffits. The fans I changed were the cheap/noisy ones and replaced them with 80cfm quiet fans w/ 4" outlets. However, the original fans only had 3" ducting, that each run approx. 12-15' to the soffits.
