2016年4月8日 · If a 72 Chevelle has a numbers-matching 307 and is an SS, it is a numbers-matching Malibu that someone added the SS stuff onto. In Chevrolet-speak, any available V8 means, any extra-cost optional V8. The 307 was considered a standard V8. Chey made an Impala SS in '68 with a 307, and in 1973 they made a Nova SS with a 307.

2023年1月16日 · While the 71 / 72 Chevelle SS was supposed to come with a driver's side Bullet mirror, over the years I have come to believe that sometimes they substituted the rectangular chrome unit due to availability from the vendor. The bullet mirror is an SS-exclusive though. The '71 Monte Carlo SS used one as well.

2024年12月5日 · I am in the final stages of my 72 SS project, having completed the interior, dash, suspension, brakes, rear end, and wheels-tires. This winter will be a new drive train. The car currently has a late 80s 454 GM crate engine and a TH400 trans. For the trans, I have decided to have either a 2004R or 700R built for the new engine, giving me overdrive.
