Allmusic, at least when it was updated on a much more frequent basis than it appears to be now, would often change the stars to reflect an album's growing or lessening stature within a given artist's corpus. Case in point: When OK Computer first came out, it received a 4 star rating.

Then all of a sudden the site slowed down to a crawl, and/or hogged my PC, it took forever for pages to load. Song clips wouldn't play. Ads were popping up so I blocked them, that didn't help.

AllMusic often seems to have a number of entries for an album - all with different ID numbers. While I know that they don't, it often seems like they take entries from anyone.
