An Hòa Combat Base (also known as Đức Dục) is a former U.S. Marine Corps and Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) base west of Hội An in Quảng Nam Province, Vietnam.

2024年8月20日 · The An Hoa Combat Base was first used in January 1966 during Operation Mallard as the Marines needed a firebase in support of the operation. Later during that year, in April, the base was used again and it was at this time it became a permanent installation.

For most US Marines who lived in, or fought near it, the An Hoa Combat Base (CB) was just a place they found themselves in while they fought their war against the North Vietnamese Army’s (NVA) 2 nd Division and local VC units. Its strategic significance was little known or understood by the Marines who fought to protect it.

I was in Vietnam in from April 1968-April 1969 with the USMC. Most of these photos were taken while on patrol in the An Hoa Valley, which we called "Happy Valley", in Quảng Nam Province. This was just south of Da Nang, and was a "free fire" combat zone.

2019年1月22日 · An Hoa Combat Base was a sprawling complex of bunkers and barbed wire set on a low hill overlooking the Vu Gia River, thirty-five miles southwest of Da Nang in Quang Nam Province, RVN.
