Charles Joseph Chaput OFMCap (/ ˈʃæpjuː / SHAP-yoo; [1] born September 26, 1944) is an American prelate of the Catholic Church. He was the ninth archbishop of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, serving from 2011 until 2020.
