2011年9月18日 · Being a B&W 801D owner, I must say, the 801 speakers were really the best from their entire line. They are able to give you the best musicallity never lacking detail, in any range, I mean from bass to treble. Amazing dynamics especially if you like to rock the house. They are extremely flat and that´s the reason they are ever rathed the best.

2017年1月12日 · I found a pair of B&W 801M at a decent price but am confused by the model. I currently own the B&W 802 series II and am familiar with their Matrix lineup. According to B&W's archive model sight and my general knowledge, I know there is the 801 series 80 (non-Matrix), 801 series 2, and 801 series 3, both Matrix.

B&W 801 F: Also a series 80, but with Fibercrete head and poly film (vs woven poly) tweeters, self powered APOC. Intro date and retail price unknown (by me anyway), replaced with: 3. B&W Matrix 801 Series 2: introduced 1987.

2020年1月16日 · Back when the 801's were new I auditioned quite a few speakers and at that time, they were my Holy Grail speaker. Alas far out of my budget, and I ended up with some ADS L990's. Now I've got a line on some 801's, but I'm really not up on what other speakers out there might compare to or be better than the now 30 year old B&W's.

2011年11月9日 · Anyway, I'm a few days into my restoration of a pair of B&W 801 Series 80s. I bought 2 pairs of 801s, hoping I could at least get one nice functioning pair. It turns out I have one pair of 801 Series 80s, but the second pair turned out to be first gen bass cabs with 802 Series 80 mid/tweet modules.

2014年4月11日 · I recently acquired a set of B&W 801 Matrix SII speakers. I am looking to acquire both an amp and a preamp to match up with the B&Ws. These speakers are very inefficient so I need something with lots of power. I am guessing 350 watts at least. I have really got power amp on my mind first with a budget of $5000-$10000 or thereabouts.

Speakers are Bowers and Wilkins 801 - inspection sticker says April 1985. And yes, they sound great - but the tinkering...
