2007年1月25日 · Bearing spacers are no problem. I've used the 400 to 350 spacers and 350 to 283 spacers. all of which were with great success. well over 7200rpms. That said. make sure you check the mains. check housing bore in block, if ok, then install bearing spacers, and check them as a housing bore. then do your bearing clearances. Mike Theroux

2008年2月16日 · I have actually answered my own question. Clevite makes the bearing spacers and special bearings required to use a 351C crank in a 351W block. I have attached a snapshot from the Clevite catalog. There are two different spacers, depending on exactly what crank is being used. Spacers: MS-2255-SEMI or MS-2254-SEMI Bearings: MS-2256H or MS-2256HX

2020年1月6日 · DCal: I can remember a guy who ran a S.B.C. in 1/4 mile asphalt oval racing back in the 1970's. Late Model class, 1964/5 chevelle, the engine was a 400 block with a 302 (3" crank) and it had main bearing spacers. 322 C.I. screaming son of a gun, won a lot of races, must of had Carrillo rods in it LOL.

2012年11月5日 · I developed a spreadsheet to do the calculations. Do a search on journal bearing friction and you should be able to find them. Need to know journal size, clearance, bearing width, rpm, torque, stroke and bore. You will calculate the force on the bearing, friction coefficient and then the frictional hp. As always, watch your units!

2012年4月28日 · Jenkins in his book described fitting a small journal crank in a 400 block by using "thick" spacer bearings to get to a conventional large journal, then honing to fit small journal bearings inside of that.
