2006年1月15日 · Calgon adverts are even more annoying than those patronising ones from the AA and Kwikfit. All three are very good at thoroughly misrepresenting the value of their products and services. Calgon - don't bother AA - found my insurance for a third less elsewhere. Their servicing is apparently poor value too and they quote one price and end up ...

2011年5月26日 · However if you use Calgon, you put it in the wash at the start with the soap, and it disolves in the wash part of the cycle whilst the element heats and maintains the water at the selected temperature. At the end of the wash, all the water is pumped out which removes most of the Calgon. The rest is rinsed out during the subsequent rinses.

2015年2月15日 · I have been thinking about using Calgon over the last few days. We bought a new washer last week, and i mentioned to hubby about using Calgon, as we are in a hard water area. Hubby doesn't think we need to use it, as all our washing machines have lasted for approximately 7 to 8½ years. Would be interesting to hear other opinions.

2008年1月26日 · Back to the calgon and the money - simple maths says its not worth it! An average family probably does 4-5 loads per week - thats 234 washes (4.5 x52). My calculations are based on using a Calgon 15 tablet packet (rrp £10.54). In a year you would use 15.6 boxes of calgon at a total price of £164.42.

2014年3月22日 · In with all the paperwork and user manual was a Calgon leaflet with a water tester, it came out as me being in a hard water area and suggested I use Calgon in every wash but it's £5 for about 1 or 2 weeks worth depending on how many washes you do a day. My household does 2 a day, so one box of Calgon will last a week, that's quite expensive.

2011年5月26日 · In the last 6 years since we've had kids its done at least 3 loads per week on average, and prior to that probably around 1.5 loads per week. Probably around 1200 loads in all. Calgon tablets are around 20p each - had we bothered to put Calgon in it we'd have spent £240 supposedly to prolong the life of a machine which should do over 10 years.

2007年5月25日 · Calgon is a waste of money we have never bought it and will never need to. They resemble dishwasher tablets with no cleaning agents. Calgon should include stain removers and fabric softner (a 3in 1) then maybe people will consider buying it.

2011年5月6日 · Calgon are advertising like crazy on TV and all the supermarkets are now producing their own label version - money to be made ! I wouldn't bother ! Most of the adverts show a heavily encrusted heating element - which TBH won't make that much, if any, difference to the performance of your machine.

2008年2月1日 · Hi I purchased a washing machine last year and haven't really considered using Calgon or a descaling product until yesterday when someone suggested putting vinegar in my Stainless Steel kettle, which I did and to my surprise, came out new this morning.
