In Dragonlance there are no Drow. Dark elves are just elves who were banished from elven lands and society. Drow means traitor in elvish. Spelling. Drow typically have innate magic powers (like dancing lights, darkness, etc) and a somewhat strict religious society based on Loth, and a matriarchal society haling from under ground.

Drow (sing & pl; pronounced: /d r aʊ/ drow or: /d r oʊ/ dro), also known as dark elves, deep elves, night elves, under-elves, and the Dark Ones among orcs, were a dark-skinned sub-race of elves that predominantly lived in the Underdark.

[4] The drow have traditionally been portrayed as generally evil and connected to the evil spider goddess Lolth.

Descended from an earlier subrace of dark-skinned elves, the drow were banished from the surface world for following the goddess Lolth down the path to evil and corruption. Now they have built their own civilization in the depths of the Underdark, patterned after the Way of Lolth.

Dark elves were elves known as Ssri-tel-quessir in the elven tongue, and the ancestors of the drow. The two terms were oftentimes used interchangeably, even by elves (Tel-quessir) themselves. [citation needed] Dark elves had dark brown skin, as opposed to the ebony skin that drow had, and pale hair.

Drow-inspired dark elves tend to have the following characteristics: While traditional elves are good, dark elves are evil in some way, with the possible exception of a token good dark elf. While traditional elves are pale, dark elves are an unnatural shade of black, blue, or purple that might be a curse or mark.

2023年3月10日 · In Faerun/Forgotten Realms, they're the same thing. Drow = dark elf, because they're elves that live in the Underdark and have dark skin. In Krynn/Dragonlance, that specific subrace of elf doesn't exist, so in that world a 'dark elf' is 'one who is outside the light' i.e. has chosen to turn to evil.

2023年6月2日 · In Faerun, Dark Elves and Drow are in fact the same thing. In Krynn, drow don't exist, and a 'dark elf' is 'any elf that chose to follow an evil god or become a black-robed magic-user'. Depending on the setting, the terms might be used interchangeably. But as a general rule, Drow is the more specific term.

The dark elves trace their lineage back tens of thousands of years, when the elves of good defeated the drow in a great war and banished them to the subterranean Underdark. There, they submitted to the worship of Lolth, Demon Queen of Spiders, and united by reverence of that dark goddess they built massive cities in the caverns below the earth.
