After you send a print job to the printer, you can use the EPSON MonitorIV utility to check, cancel, or change the priority of print jobs that are queued for printing. This utility also shows the status of the job currently being printed.

You can check the print head nozzles from your computer using the Nozzle Check utility in the printer software, or from the printer itself by using the printer's control panel buttons. Refer to the appropriate section below to use the Nozzle Check utility.

If your Epson product is not printing properly, search for your specific product on our printer hub page to obtain helpful troubleshooting information. Some common printing issues include banding, incorrect colors appearing, blurry prints, grainy prints, or faded prints.

Running a printer check helps you determine if the printer is operating properly. Turn off the printer. Disconnect any connected interface cables. Load plain paper. Hold down the ink button as you press the power button to turn the printer back on. Hold down both buttons until the power light begins to flash, then release the buttons.

EPSON Status Monitor 3 provides you with detailed printer status information, a graphic display, and status messages. If the ink runs low or out, or the maintenance tank becomes full, the How to button appears in the EPSON Status Monitor 3 window.

Make sure the printer is not offline or pending. If the printer is offline or pending, clear the offline or pending setting from the Printer menu. Make sure the printer is selected as the default printer from the Printer menu (there should be a check mark on the menu item).
