As far a lakers I’ve only used the basskhang lake trout And vline king carbon. The basskhang has a 48″ blank I’ve trimmed a bit off tip to make it a bigger fish rod. Then trim butt to desired length

These are terrific thru rod blanks, and…..put some single foot fly rod guides on and a 4.5 tip a cork handle and a schooley reel and you can long rod hole hop and still fight a bass without losing your lure.

2018年2月1日 · Most ice blanks have a section in the butt end that has little or no taper. You can cut several inches off and not get into the taper. You can also trim the tip if you need to. Trimming from the tip will make the rod a bit slower, and increase the fishable lure weight a bit.

2013年8月6日 · I also make my own. Get my blanks from fly rod tippets from st. Croix. Work great!! When ever I borrow one out it tends to be hard to get them back. I like a longer rod and most that are carry a hefty price tag. Have used a buddies thorne brothers sweetheart 32″ and liked that. Cant wait for ice!!

2016年1月12日 · call tucr and see if they will sell you the blanks. I would suspect not. They make way more money selling a complete product and I would think they don’t want their product out there with inferior (their standards)components.

2018年1月18日 · Hello. I’m looking for suggestions for a rod blank. Normally fishing outside, 6 to 12 feet in pothole prairie lakes and targeting walleye. Lakes I’m in are thick with pike. For every walleye caught I catch a pike. Most days I end up fishing a medium heavy rod to handle the pike.

2017年1月27日 · This is the one you want.A couple years ago,I made a pair from the Janns 31″ carbon blanks.As is,a little stiff for anything under 1/2oz.With a little tweaking,they fish W5 and W7 jig raps perfectly.Mine are 34″,I used a scrap piece of tubular blank to extend length.Thinned the tip to 032″,had 0 problems.

2019年1月17日 · That includes sanding the taper and painting the rod/tip. Oddly enough, the most expensive component is thread. Especially if you want more than 1-2 colors or plan on learning wraps and weaves. I get my blanks from SportsmenDirect for $5 bucks a piece (Extreme taper fiberglass). Everything else I get from Mudhole.
