I frequently re watch S2000 youtube reviews and yelp whenever mighty car mods has an update on moog's Honda build. So needless to say I'm in love with these cars. I've read slight differences between AP1 models and AP2 models.

2013年4月6日 · The S2000 is on top now the more I've thought that what I really want is just a more comfortable with less wear-and-tear version of the Miata I am replacing. S2000 is the obvious answer. So, do I want an AP1 or an AP2? I've heard that the AP1 has some weird rear-end dynamic toe issues at the limit. How extreme are these?

Also honda didn't "optimize the tune perfectly from the factory", optimal VTEC engagement on the AP1 is 5500RPM not 6k. The shakes was my issue started with cleaning the torque sensor plug ins..nothing..then replaced the torque sensor with another ap1 sensor worked for couple days then back to broken. Finally got a different ap1 eps module and that was the fix for me But like you posted you tried both torque sensor and both modules so now I'm curious on your ...

2021年9月22日 · AP2 also has a leather wrapped shifter, AP1 is all aluminum, and the CR used an all aluminum spherical shifter. wind deflectors were also an option on AP1 cars. my S2000 doesn't have one. AP2 has a silver radio door and the AP1 is black. AP2 has passenger airbag off sensors if you have a child in the passenger seat.

2015年9月27日 · One area it certainly beats the S2000 is the mid-range torque department; especially the older AP1. In the AP1 I had to really work to keep the car in VTEC. I also had to work in the AP2 S2000, but not quite as much as the AP1. The 987 S doesn't have that problem- it just pulls pretty steadily from just about any reasonable RPM.

2013年11月14日 · speed - AP1 has higher top speed, AP2 has better acceleration. The gearbox has shorter ratios in the AP2, that's why. The gearboxes are interchangable. handling - AP1 is a go-kart, AP2 is a tamed sports car. comfortability - same thing interior - depends on your taste. I like the AP1 seats and the AP2 center console.

Replaced with oem Honda one and it was fine after that. Suggestions if you were to go s2000 route. Clutch replacement: Oem/aftermarket pad Oem throw out bearing (must) Oem pilot bearing Ap1 fly wheel Oem/aftermarket pressure plate. With ap1 -Replace with ap2 valve springs and clips to prevent valves from dropping into the block

2013年4月8日 · I'm on my third S2000. I got an AP1 in my early days of racing. Traded that for a CR when I got pretty good at autoxing. Then last year sold that to build a 2006 AP2 Time Trial car (the CR was too nice to cut up and weld in a proper cage and/or risk hitting a wall). The CR was the best out of the box for sure.
