Bicarbonate should be given when adequate ventilation is assured. Generally, it is used to correct the pH up to 7.1 and take it from there.

2005年11月20日 · The base deficit tells you how much bicarbonate you are short: base deficit x body weight x 2/3 = meq of bicarb you are down. This does not mean that you should replace the whole thing immediately, or that bicarb is the answer.... you need to look at lactate (not great to treat lactic acidosis with bicarb), anion gap, and the cause of the acidosis.

If there is a positive BE (greater than +2) then this indicates that there has been a gain of a base or loss of acid due to non respiratory causes. 2025年1月18日 · Seeing about 10-14 patients a day with 1 case per week on average right now. Goal is to get up to 20 patients a day with 2-3 cases a week by August this year. I also plan to talk to admin about raising my base pay and RVU bonus amount if my volume continues to rise as it has been at my 1 year mark.
