2003年1月21日 · We've had a code discussion around our office about top of wall bracing for interior non-bearing partition walls. I was taught walls should be braced at a maximum of 48" o.c. and thought it was a code requirement but have not been able to find a reference to that effect.

2012年7月23日 · How is the diagonal bracing detailed? Is it used for in-plane shear forces? Note that horizontal bridging at 4'-0"OC is common on metal studs with cladding on one side only. The bridging prevents lateral torsional buckling of the studs.

2017年4月9日 · Typically the CFS kick-brace at interior walls is for light walls with a drop equivalent to standard drop-ceiling height. Your brace ends up being a 20ga stud or sim. screwed/clipped to the structure and screwed to the track on the wall.

2013年5月3日 · In the plan you provided, there is 11'9" between the north wall and the interior wall - you need 2.2625' (interpolated) wall bracing in the the North wall. (assuming no modification factors and a 90 mph wind speed).

2017年3月18日 · I appears the contractor on the site framed the walls with double 2x4s at the top of the interior wall because it was intended for the wall to be carry a significant load due to the truss deflection.
