Build a linerlock - BladeForums.com
2012年4月6日 · I like using holes as when you join up the two cuts that free the lock, it just comes out neater. I scribe two lines between the holes as a guide so I can line up the cutting disc. I clamp the lock-side liner in my drill vice and use a Dremmel cut-off wheel (0.8mm thick), spinning at full speed to cut through the titanium.
Optimal position of the liner lock | BladeForums.com
2022年10月21日 · In contrast, I once used a liner lock knife (Benchmade Darkstar) to pry open a bathroom door when the door knob broke trapping me inside. To my utter shock the lock didn't fail, and the knife still functions perfectly to this day. Of course I don't recommend using a folding knife in such a manner, but it was a unique situation.
Proper Liner-Lock Engagement? - BladeForums.com
2001年10月11日 · At this point, the liner lock is technically worn out, but there are ways to fix it, like introducing a bigger stop pin, which will send the liner back to the left again. Overall, IMO the answer to the question of "proper proportion of engagement to blade" is, provided the lockup is secure and not susceptible to accidental failure, the entire ...
How to repair non-working Liner Lock? | BladeForums.com
2016年8月23日 · The more material removed, the later the lockup gets--go slow and check often, or the liner will be ruined as a lock. If the lock can be pressed into place without feeling any sticky points, then the liner may not have enough spring. The quick fix for that is to take the liner out and gently bend it a bit more in the direction of travel.
Button Lock vs Liner Lock - BladeForums.com
2010年2月5日 · The problem for me when using buttons, cross-bar locks, compression locks, etc.; is that I'll often forget and instinctively reach a finger like it was a frame or liner lock. Maybe I'm getting old. My only complaint with the liner lock on the Elementum is that the proud jimping makes that area of the knife less comfortable during use.

2021年11月13日 · Here's one of the better liner lock WIP/Tutorials I've seen. Yes you will need to bend the locking portion of the liner. You can do a gradual bend along the length of the lock, or you can make a more localized bend down at the bottom of the slot that you cut. You want the locking portion of the lock side liner to bend toward the opposite liner.
Axis Lock, Lock back, Liner lock... which is better?
2008年9月25日 · Axis lock is the best imho. ive seen a lot liner lock knives fail straight from the box. just apply a little pressure in the closing direction and "bingo" the liner slides right off the locking face area on the blade. the only exception to this is crkt's knives with the "lawks" feature which prevents the liner from sliding off. lock backs can ...
How to install a detent ball for liner lock? | BladeForums.com
2008年5月31日 · This knife has a small 1-70 size button head screw placed in the lock where a detent ball would normally go. It is done with a polished and rounded off screw head. Dick simply threaded the hole after drilling for it and then inserted one of the same screws used in the construction of the folder itself.
Liner Lock Goes too Far - BladeForums.com
2000年11月26日 · The tang/liner lock interface is an extremely close fitted critical junction. Worse, if the knife has a Ti liner lock, Ti is prone to galling. It is a new knife. It doesn't work. Send it back to the factory. The only thing I would do is put a drop of oil on the tang. If this doesn't fix the problem, mail it back. Walt
Liner locks: Pros and cons - BladeForums.com
1999年11月3日 · The single best Pro for the liner lock of course is the ease of one hand opening and closing. it is fairly easy to manipulate the knife in the hand to engage and disengage the knife. As already mentioned though, a con would be that your thumb that is doing th unlocking can be potentially cut whiel closing the knife.
