2004年7月20日 · With Mint its the Ubuntu base, its geared more for long term support workstations, not home users looking to install last weeks new version of Libre office or something. The Deck is running pretty smooth even for desktop type stuffs, pretty sure '25 will be the year Valve finally makes SteamOS3 a proper download and run it distro. Hopefully anyway.

The PPA I used for installing Dolphin wasn't supporting Ubuntu 20.04, and of course Mint 20. The switch to Mint 21 AKA Ubuntu 22.04, broke Pronterface which I used for 3D printing and Kodi with Jellyfin addon would crash.

2024年10月10日 · This is the case with Linux Mint as time goes on it seems like they're too concerned with anyone using Mint outside of their repository. This is probably because the Mint team is stretched too thin. As it is something as simple as gscan2pdf doesn't seem to work with Mint 22, and I had to get a .deb from sourceforge to get it working.

Most distros make money through donations, but not always just from people. For example Linux Mint gets donations from Oracle, Amazon, and etc. They also do make money from what is the default search engine in FireFox on Linux Mint.
